Papa Records warm things up for summer by welcoming a brand
new artist to the label ‘Dalminjo’,
with his exciting debut release ‘I’ll Wait’
featuring the deep seductive vocals of Lenny Hamilton.
The package not only features original and remixes from
Dalminjo himself but also some heavy hitters from New York’s
man of moment Ian Friday!
Dalminjo is 25 year old Norwegian, Ole Roar Granli who
has been producing music since he was 13 years old and signed
his Dalminjo alias to Swedish based Deeplay Music in 2001
after recording under the ORG Lounge alias on US label Water
Music Records.
The main essence of the Dalminjo project was all about
deep, latin percussive, jazzy house from which his debut,
"Solitude Jazz", EP was born in 2003. It was swiftly
followed up by another single, "Bossa Note", which
featured a stunning remix from Jask. Dalminjo liked the
remix so much that it provoked a change of thought in his
mind and he became hooked on the soulful house sound. These
days Dalminjo is focusing more on this sound and we’re
very excited to be releasing the first fruits of his labour!
Lenny Hamilton has had a music career behind him that spans
more than 20 years as both a vocalist and producer. Finally
having an opportunity to collaborate with Dalminjo is something
they have been looking forward to for a while. Lenny is
currently busy trying to finish his album ‘Way Out’
due for release this summer.
The original mix features a sublime construction of up
tempo beats, shallow chords and keys. Add Lenny’s
deep seductive vocals on top to provide the icing and you
have a sure fire floor filler!
The Dalminjo Remode mix take things up a level further
with added build ups and stretches to increase the intensity
of the song.
Finally, to complete the package Tea Party Music main man
Ian Friday takes the track in a totally different direction
in only the way he knows best using his trademark beats
and moog sounds to create some very deep spiritual mixes
for the head nodders!
